Things That Don’t Make Sense

18 Feb

My brain is feeling a little bit fried.

It’s a stressful time for a lot of university students.

It’s mid-semester so there’s a lot going on in the way of assignments and tests.

So I’ve concluded that that is the reason why I’ve found a few things in my life unusually frustrating in their nonsensicalness lately.

#1. This so-called “Reading Week”

I thought it was supposed to be a week off, a.k.a. holidays.

A substitution for March Break.

Turns out, its name is more correct than I had imagined because I know there are textbooks in my near future.

Who would’ve thought that that means you’re supposed to read?

#2. My colourblind printer.

I tried to print an assignment with my printer today in BLACK AND WHITE.

My printer was out of COLOUR ink.

Would it print my assignment? No.

Why not? Because my COLOUR ink cartridge was empty.

Did my assignment contain any COLOUR? No.

I don’t understand.

#3. My toilet paper and water obsessed father.

Every time my dad comes to pick me up, he brings me extra toilet paper and bottled water.

I have so much toilet paper and bottled water.

Dad, if you’re preparing me for a tornado or apocalypse or something, I’m going to need more canned goods, flashlights, batteries, and zombie repellent.

#4. The lone deer.

I was walking by myself last Sunday morning through some trees when I spotted it.

One deer.

You never see them by themselves.

They’re always in groups.

It was eerie.

It just stared at me.

Maybe it’s never seen just one, lone student before and was just as confused by my presence as I was by it.

Or maybe it was up to something.

Wow. Deer are plotting against me. That’s a new one.

My brain really is fried.

I think I’ll go take a nap.
